The k700 has a diffrent camera to the 6230 which strugels in low light but is really good in well lit enviroments.
As far as I know the 6230 dosnt have a flash so how is it better in dark environments?
Anyway k700 looks so good and i wouldnt trade for a nokia because they are not as cool to me, yes thats the only reason.
Try taking night mode off, getting closer to what you want to take a picture of and get that light in that picture to be facing towards those people and behind the camera.

They built a photo assist light onto it, but the range is limited. Nothing you can do about it I am afraid, just the way it is.

If your mate is still there, try the night mode on the two phones. You will find that the Nokia 6600 has an absolutely SUPERB night mode, can make really dark conditions look like daylight. Its the only thing I am jealous about with regards to my mate's 6600.

Anyway better nightmode is certainly no reason to get a 6230 over K700. The 6230s only other advantage is the memory card but the K700 wins easily on everything else.

I have only had problems with ourdoor pictures. Is there a setting for that? I remember on my P800 I had those settings like Indoor Outdoor Automatic and some other one. None of this on K700.
As for Image quality, I found it best that if you want to view images on the phone use the Medium setting (320 x 240) and for betting viewing on a comp use Extended or Large. I prefer Extended.

@Chaser81, we did try night mode as it happens and we took pictures of a bookshelf. Unfortunately I don't have those pics because I didn't see this post until just now but the 6600 picture looked like a city landscape at dusk whereas in my k700 it was quite clear it was a bookshelf

When I look into the phone it is extrordinarily clear but when I take the picture it grows very fuzzy. Ill try get some pics with an example of this today.

One thing never mentioned is how do the file sizes compare?
i.e. if the same pics are taken at same resolution by the different phones is there any difference in file size?
