I've owned both a P900 and a XDA2. I sold one of them.. the P900.
The XDA2 does everything 100 times better than the P900.
It has the better camera, better video which can record for hours using a 1GB SD card (P900 is limited to 128mb), the better
real internet browser which can with plugins view flash sites, Java sites and more just like on your deskstop pc..
The XDA2 has longer range Bluetooth (stated 10m, but works far further), better RF reception..
With SD cards it has the better MP3 player, better loudspeaker, and a larger better screen. The XDA2's screen makes the P900's look really crap when compared side by side.
The only downsides to the XDA2 compared to the P900 is the size, the XDA2 is larger, and the battery lasts between 5-8 hours with the backlight on. With it off, it lasts 10-13 hours.
If you want a PDA, buy the XDA2 or wait for the XDA3. If you want a phone with a very limited PDA, you'd be happy with the P900.

I went into T-Mobile today to have a look at the XDA 2, MDA 2 same thing! Just to get a size comparision with my P800, as the new XDA3 or better known CU928 is a little smaller then the XDA2. With both P800 in one pocket and the XDA in the other pocket the P800 stood out alot more! its so fat compared!!!!!
The XDA 2 felt a lot smaller in my pocket! so it got me pretty excited as Im waiting for the XDA 3! The keyboard is going to rock! for games and both Bluetooth and wifi!
Oh yeah and a 25% increase in battery life!

have fun!

if XDA could rival p series battery life wise i would buy it but a limited hours is no go especially in the field when you need a phone to go 24 hrs.

I recall this debate some time ago, there must be loads on here if you chose to search...
I also deliberated between the 2, but felt the p900 suited my needs better - since I was replacing a phone, I wanted a phone in it's place, the extras of the P900 arejust that, extras...
Having had the P900 almost a year now, well since November of last year, i find it difficult to think how I lived without it... but i feel it is definitely lacking something also... it is strange to describe what exactly, but I feel it leaves you wanting more... whether the XDA2 would have been that little but more i do not know, in fact I actually doubt it, but it was just a little too impractical when things were weighed up...
I must say though, perhaps because I have the P900, that I would probably more closely consider the XDA3 over the P910... to me the P910 is SE using their license to print money once again as opposed to being radical as they once were with the P800...
The last I heard though, the XDA3 was not to be, well not under that name anyway... So far, all I ama aware of anyway, is that it will appear as the MDA2... whilst initially this appears to be a simple naming difference, it would mean that in the UK at least, T Mobile would be the service provider, rather than O2... this may make a difference to some (if it is locked or whatever)... I should imagine O2 must be planning on releasing the device under their branding, just that it was not confirmed last time i looked at it...

yeah the naming of these devices is all over the place, seems like you buy the hardware and name it yourself. So far I know the names of:
XDA
MDA
CU928
I mate
I think there are others but thats what I have found!

Is it true? yes! and T-mobile will be selling it for sure!
Will it be the XDA 3, I would bet my house on it, but have not heard! I only say this is because the same company who made it made the others XDA XDA2 and its time to for the new version to come out, sept every year! and..........
just found this:
http://www.mtekk.com.au/browse/page890.html
so I guess so!

It has pretty much the same specs as the XDA2 so i cant see it being the XDA3. If it is, i can see it being like what SE have done, released a slightly improved P910 over the P900.

I have heard talk of an XDA4, which sounds kinda forward since the xda3 hasn't reared it's head yet... apparently this should be the proper upgrade hardware wise - 600 odd mhz processor and 128MB ram for starters... but when this will appear is anyone's guess i suppose...
I am getting sick of these companies releasing "tweaked" versions of a good device though... seems like they just inroduce new products for the sake of of doing so, but it just makes me think that the this is how the original should have been all along if they pulled their finger out...
I should imagine it was always inevitable that O2 would release the new device - I suppose for the XDA2, the addition of a fairly functional looking keyboard will be an improvement for the better...
