Monarch Airlines.
Captain announced before take off that, ''all mobile phones should be switched off at all times, and devices with 'Flight mode' should be switched off during take off and landing''
But i use it as an alternative to silent mode more.

Hi all,
I'm always using it with Austrian Airlines, 3/4 time a month, but I'm not sure they know that the P800 is not just a PDA... Anyway, as usual, I have to turn it off during takeoff/landing.
They never ask me about it, and I'm using it without the keyboard.
Cheers.

I sure hope Northwest airlines is not prohibiting the use of the P800 in their flights

I don't have that but you can see the letter I got from BA as the final answer to my query if you look at that other thread near the end

@batesie
i flew with monarch to mallorca a few weeks ago and was unable to use flight mode, they made me switch my p900 off. I tried explaining that it wouldnt allow bluetooth, calls etc but they were'nt having any of it.
i think if flight attendents were explained about the function and told which devices support it then it wouldnt be a problem.
they dont seem to have much understanding of it
i was a bit gutted. whats the point in having a p900 when you cant use its functions

... another good use of flight mode is if you are entering a hospital and the "turn of cellular phone" sign is posted. Just put it on flight mode.
I've also used my p900 in hospital. Very useful in my opinion.
I don't think I would use my p900 on a plane anyway.
Just imagine if you forgot to put it on!! Easily done.

When I got my P800 in April '03, I flew from Geneva to Frankfurt then Frankfurt to Montreal...Questions were never asked, and at that point, I had not yet tried removing the keypad, so it did look like a cell phone...Anydangway, I don't think it's called Flight Mode for nothing...I think airline companies should look into this
