It doesn't help you but just to let you know it's not just you. For months I've used all parts of PC Suite sucessfully but last week the phone is just not regonised/connecting. Well it starts to sync, but won't transfer the info and stops rsponding causing the whole system to crash. I have disabled firewalls/anti virus, unplugged the USB, reinstalled PC SUITE several times all with no joy at all. I am now considering a hard rest of the phone but are reluctant to do this in case I can't get the set up working again.

A P900 that won't sync is just a big phone and as just a phone there are a hell of a lot of more compact ones that do a better job.

I have the work sometimes/don't work others problem too...

And it doesn't seem to be Pc limited either - it worked ok(ish) on an older laptop's sole USB port - but then refused to work for most of the time on a fujitsu laptop unless I fiddled with it... sometimes it seemed as though my firewall was the problem, other times simply removing the cable from the usb port and putting into another one solved the problem... This though was on a freshly factory restored image when i first bought the phone, so there was no crap in sight...

I have yet to try it on my new desktop yet, since I have abandoned the Syncstation after much turmoil and bought a card reader since I do not need the synchronising option anyway...

from what I glean, it may be;

- a firewall or other security program
- putting the cable into the wrong (yes i know) usb port - my first laptop had only one and it worked, the fujitsu had 2 and it worked sometimes after swopping...
- I wonder whether XP SP1 has anything to do with it, since the first one didn't have it, the 2nd one did - coincidentally, xp without SP1 (even some with) doesn't always natively support USB2.0 without a driver update...

It seems that, for me at least, this sync problem has been inherited from the good ol' epoc/symbian days - in fact the software connection bit looks kinda similar with the wavy lines an' all - my Series 5 used to hate to connect to an even older (was modern then though) computer - that connected via a serial port, and the P900 sync station is based on serial technology - the similarities are there... though my series 5 was excused cos i loved it to bits wiv' it's foldey outey keyboard who couldn't !...

I am envious of those who get it working though 'cos it's been such a battle for me for years now (since Series 5 days)... and has absorbed many an hour of my day only to be in the same position -

It seems that you are either lucky and it works, or you ain't and it probably never will again...! (that was optimistic now wasn't it! )
