im having the same problem on my p910i on the (orange) network not able to delete voice waiting or sim updates ..... Orange dont seam to think theres a problem after i went to the OFT (office of fair trading) the orange shop gave me a new handset with updated firmware and sim and guess what same fault... went back to OFT who after speaking with the orange shop told me to go and in and pick a new phone guess what!!! the manager of the shop tried to get me a new phone but orange would ONLY give me ANOTHER P910i phone..... it is now back with OFT who are taking it further with Orange head office! (WATCH THIS SPACE)
P.S. Sony was not helpful either all they are saying is its orange thats at fault
either way once im out of the contract i WONT deal with ORANGE or SONY shame cos i love the phone

I thought it was just me being stupid. It seems like it's an Orange problem.
probably solved by a reflash but that costs and may invalidate the warranty.

A reflash makes no differences as i said on my last reply i am on my second p910i with the very latest firmware installed.... very thing seamed fine untill Orange sends the sim updates through thats when it goes to pot ..... i think its down to the way Orange customizes the phone ...... would be nice to find out if it happens on an open ended p910i i.e. not locked to a network ....... anyone out there tell me!!

Orange are certainly aware of this issue - I raised it with them last October (and was probably not the first). It does not, however, affect ALL Orange P910i's - suggesting that there is more to your phone than the firmware you can download.
By the way, I have had my phone unlocked, and also flashed to generic firmware (with a 162005 CDA) - neither of these things resolves the "Voicemail" SMS problem, in case you were wondering.
On my phone I have two "voicemail" SMS messages that I cannot delete - one which arrives to illuminate the voicemail symbol, and one which arrives to switch it off. Is that the same for you too?
Orange believe that there is a new firmware release due out in the next couple of weeks that will, among other things, resolve this issue.
p.s. As an aside: my colleague is on Vodafone UK and his P910i appears to receive every single incoming SMS twice: once on the phone and once on the SIM. And guess what? You can't delete the one that's on the SIM. Put the SIM in another phone, though, and it's empty.

i have no problems with the voicemail symbol thats fine you listen to your messages and it disappears. nope the only thing is the two messages one voice and one sim update. when i got the replacment phone the manager put her sim in and we were able to delete her voice sms then we put mines in (had to wait a couple of hours till my number came across) switched the phone on 3 sim updates came through .. deleted them switched the phone off then on and when the first voicecall came in thats when the problem started.
Glad you told me about Vodafone cos if i get out of the contract i was going to go to vodafone for the p910 but now i'll just look to see what other handsets are on the market...
could be something to do with sony ericsson did you see bbc watchdog with 02 and the sony ericsson k700 were they didnt get their sms at all ....... then they all came at once at 3 am ? 02 has done the right thing and took the phone off their shelves till they can sort it out....
