I agree with you. It's pachy style. He used @ and now JN doeas and few other members. I only use it, when I want to speak (write) to someone specific.

I use the @ sign cause i see most people using them. For a newcomer, he will think that this is how Esatoians address each other. From now on i won't use it. But is it really such a big problem?

It is not so much a problem I suppose, except for me. for me it is a HUGE deal. but that's only because I have nothing better to do at the moment
But for the sake of clarity, wouldn't it be nice when we could all distinguish between when people are talking to us or just about us?
Elrond I really have no idea. Pachy simply vanished one day.

if your talking to someone, you put @ before their name. If your talking ABOUT someone, just pm

I locked pachy in my basement a long time ago. He eventually died from a force-fed overdose of chelsea buns, which ironically resemble an @ symbol....

Ahh, so that's why we all use @!
Like Whizzkidd (note no '@') I thought it was some kind of etiquette, or it was something to do with searching for posts with your name in it or something daft.
Now I know, I'll reduce the use of the @.
Thanks, @vlam!
Oops. Force of habit!
