It depends on the look, i used to have a sony Z7 flipfone and it was really smart, if it hadnt broken i would still have it! I havent seen very many nice flipphones lately, i dont like the samsung/motorola style, tho having said that i just got an LG8110, but purely because it was a fantastic contract offer. On the whole i would have to say *block* phones are better looking, less fiddly to use.

Blocks are kewl but they tend to get alot of bruising! The whole advantage of a clamshell is that its screen is protected altho like my v600 that wasnt by those motorola goons :-l

i do like clamshells, the only reason being the internal screen wont get scratched very easily. But i prefer candybar phones.

Give me my brick! My father owns some motorola clamshell and his screen is scratched as bad as any other phone Ive seen. Also, some clams are a bit tender but some will take a beating, such as being stood on (hehe, dont try to play pool with a phone in your shirt pocket). But some clams are just plain revolting. If the screen is placed lower then the keypad when it is open, it deserves to be chucked in the bin and you should rush out and buy a brick.
