I don't lock my doors, if they are good enough to get through the gates or over the wall AND passed my dogs the the last thing I want is the locks on by expensive doors and windows broken.

I never lock my doors or windows when I go out.

I live at 59 Kilburn Street, Bognor Regis if anyone wants to check...

You don't need to worry about locking when you sleep with a super light weight tee ball bat under your bed. ;]

A hammer or a golf club is best - just incase it goes to court as these are more acceptable as 'things at hand' in self defence

I'd recommend a 6lb Mash hammer or a Ping Driver with 8° face

Golf clubs break to easily and are clumsy. A bat can be just as "at hand" as a golf club. Everyone keeps their clubs in their garage anyway. This shouldn't matter though, once someone breaks into your house it's fair game, at least where I live that's the law. Not that I want to kill someone, just mess them up a bit. ;]

Sadly, it's not like that in the UK. With the current messed-up state of the country and an over-emphasis on human rights, the homeowner gets into trouble for definding their property, whilst the burglar gets to sue the homeowner for personal injury and..... loss of earnings!!

Golf is serious in Scotland, hence they rightful environment for the clubs is the bedroom. My ceilings here are nice and high so a full drive is possible without hindering my swing.

Every man to his sport.

Here in queenstown nz my house doors are open 24/7 and friends and acquaintances just walk in and out at any time of day just like on neighbours.
