Nokia pictures on SMS are propriatory (it used to be disabled on many networks). The T68i has the ability to read these pictures, it cannot modify or send them on. Possibly due to Nokia licencing or just the fact that other makers are supporting EMS and are not encouraging the use of this system (even Nokia are promoting MMS in it's place - remember the service option that Nokia used to promote with the 7110 and 8850 etc. for downloading ringtones? They now use SMS like everyone else as the medium to send).

the t68 and the t39 can receive but NOT forward nokia's picture messages.
the original topic in discussion refers to the pictures made out using regular text characters. this is not the same as nokia's picture messages.

I see. Thanks for the info. But i'm still not sure of the reason why it's not allowed to forward these kinds of SMS. Or is it that only Nokia phones can forward SMS that are created from Nokia phones?
