Try cleaning the contacts first. A clean, dry toothbrush is ideal. This message was posted from a T68i

ive had a lil look at my sim card, it seems ok (i'll clean it anyway) and the actual card holder isnt loose.
yesterday isntead of saying 'insert sim card' it said 'wrong sim card'- thats the first time it has said that. as my phone is unlocked surely it shouldnt be saying that at all.

anyway, i'll give my sim a clean and see how it goes

thanks for your help

You may have the change SIM lock on; it's set manually so that you have to enter your lock code if a different SIM is inserted. It seems that your phone and card aren't reading each other properly and cleaning everything seems the simplest (and cheapest) thing to try first.
