Yup, sounds like you didn't align the rubber contacts to the button on the pcb properly, place the button pad in the front fascia upside down so it slots in then place the phone unit in the fascia whilst upside down, fit it this way to ensure everything fits like a "shoe" - otherwise there is no reason why anything shouldn't work unless you accidently scratch or damage something! - in total I have opened my phone 4 times and not a single problem!

nah ive worked it out!!

the ribbon between the buttons and the pcb has come clean off!!

so ill have to see if i can sweet talk hays.

or buy a repleacment ribbon from someone???

You mean the small round black rubber thing that attaches to the underside of each button? or the white circular thing on the PCB itself?

If it's the button then you can buy a new button pad for a few $ from the above mentioned site!
