Why not just settle for Symbian & be thankful it's UIQ not Series60!

If the P900 was made with PPC or Linux u'd be asking if u could load Symbian!!!!!

I got my winXP disc out, and formatted my P900's memory. Sat there for a few hours thinking about which files to transfer across. Then realised that the 1gig install space needed for XP wouldn't be compatible with my p900. Shame that

Horses for courses - I know nothing about the Sybian OS UIQ or Series 60 (not tried too hard to find books - but no joy). *nix on the other hand I have used for the last 15 years and know a bit.

Perhaps u could take a 20GB Hard-drive from an i-Pod & put it in the P900 then you're away!!!

You may laugh, I cry, I still have a customer running a 486 with a 500Mb HDD and 16 Mb Ram (SCO Unix 5.0.0) box to run a 3 screen system - how will that spec compare to a phone in 1, 2 or 3 years time (Full Kernel apprx 130Mb which could be stripped to 1/4 that)

@djordje1yu
if you use tracker there are numerous skins that resemble windows.
you could probably find ordinary themes as well

And while we're on the topic of Windows Mobile, here's the latest and the greatest news: they (as opposed to "we - symbianers") already have a virus.

More details at the following URL:

http://www.informit.com/articles/article.asp?p=337071

and a quote from the Bugtraq announcement:
[...]

Airscanner Corp. received the CE.Dust virus from its author at the exact same time as all other major antivirus companies. However, because Airscanner Corp. specializes exclusively in software reverse engineering for ARM-based processors, we were fortunate enough to be the first antivirus company to analyze the virus and post a fix on July 16, 2004:

As Homer would say: "D'OH!"

I've a XDA2 phone with windows mobile 2003 (from my Job) and a P900, sincerelly I'm rather the Symbian OS. The Windows Mobile is good but it's not made to use as a Phone. I can't use the XDA2 without the 2 hands, It's REALLY annoying. As a PDA is great but as a Phone sucks big. Opera is much better too and less expensive to use than the IE on WMobile.

Best,

Anyway
