Yes of course, but don´t forget that even as upgrade or with contract they will be loads more expensive than the rest of the SE lineup..
I mean, here in Sweden you´ll get like a T610/30 for free on 24-month contract renewal, but fx the K700 is more like €200..

I was thinking that if SE will keep on releasing such phones with so high cost, where we would be then because we will never be in a condition to buy them and then there will nothing to be left to discuss with here on Esato....i guess they should drop the price of their phones..

Well my point here is value for money, compared to other phones, on contract or not, it'll always be more expensive.

@Krubach - true it may not be as good value for money but I think it will sell quite well. as you stated the phone isnt actually available yet and I would be surprised of that price sticks when its actually released. ill make my judgement on value for money when I see contract prices

Here in Manila, one of the leading local network is now putting the SE S700 in one of it's plans/scheme - SMART, my friend who works there told me that the promo will commence as early as the 1st batch of ordered units already reaches their stockroom - October 2004 was his safe reply! Yup, as one would coreectly have lamented back there, the loyal SE patronizers will eventually get hold of the S700 as the price drops as the day progresses, only a few will surely buy it in it's assumption date in the market . . . after a couple of month's, majority will give in !

If it is going to be priced higher than a P900/P910 and does'nt include the P series features then I dont think it will take off until prices drop quite a bit. I think that when networks offer them "free" on 12 month contract they will appeal to a lot of people. I was going to buy one but after the problems with my P900 and that my K700i is starting to annoy me (8 faults since software upgrade) I'm looking into buying either a Siemens SL65 (Out tomorrow) or a Samsung E800.

Best deal looks like Vodaphone 200 mins + 100 text @ £33 + £157 for handset.
Not sure you would get this sort of deal as an upgrade though (comission is less than on new contracts).

That price dropped as availability increased...... and so will this one.
And in the end of the day.... most people buy their phones on contract..... heavily subsidized and that's how we can afford it. I personally would never shell out € 200.00 for a phone, ANY phone
I'll just see how much the providers are prepared the compensate for the privilege of my business

I don't think it'll sell much due to too high a price, most who buy it would be tech enthusiasts or the super rich who have nothing else to spend on. I'm not getting one due to high price as well.
