@ methylated_spirit

u explained it well... knew were u were coming from.. my opinion is the light should be positioned to ensure all keys are the same or even one light in each column.. thought that would not be to difficult considering what the phone can do.. not to worry, as it is not that a big deal as others state, overall i'm pleased with the phone up to now...

Yes it is a big deal coz if you bought a 100watt light bulb that only produced 60watts output you would complain to the manufacturer wouldn't you? i would :) This message was posted from a P900

But @MadBob is correct. The light should also provide some illumination to the internal keypad. Its useless in the dark.

it does seem strange that they should light up the numeric keypad side of the flip and not light up the qwerty side

it was hard at first in the dark but now I can easily feel my way around the keyboard and since I can see what I am typing and know if I make a mistake its not all that bad

Is it possible to adjust the electronic flip/keypad lights? for example when adjusting the brightness control for the screen does it have an effect on the keypad or not? This message was posted from a P900

I just tested it and yes, adjusting the screen brightness does also adjust the keypad brightness

Not entirely same thing. You buy a light bulb for the light. That's its only function. The same thing can't be said about a phone unless you use it as a light bulb.

If you would be more satisfied with a light bulb then get one. Much cheaper than a P910i, call costs would be nothing & you wouldn't get bothered with nuisance calls

You could upgrade to a high wattage model in a years time with a bayonet fitting
