> DSS-25 = USB + Firmware?

I got my S700i yesterday and for some reason it won't work with my Dss-25 which I bought specifically for this phone.
I have installed the drivers off of the SE website and it's installed the dss-25 as hardware fine, and have installed all the software off of the SE CD included in the box with my S700 but it won't communicate with the PC...
anyone any ideas why and how i can fix this?
(I'm using Windows XP, with the dss-25 connected to a fron USB port on a Dell optiplex GX270)

You can't use the DSS-25 for your S700i according to the SE site. You need the DCU-11. If you found info regarding the usage of DSS-25 on the SE site, then give us a link. I didn't find one.

that why i orderd it from eBay .... .

If you had checked the SE site you would see this. Look under K700i - Support for the K700i - "Sony Ericsson Update Service". There you have the update service.
There are no "Sony Ericsson Update Service" on the S700i.
And a DCU-11 won't help you to upgrade either. DCU-11 is just for file transfer and nothing more.
You will have to send your S700i to a SE service center.
It's a shame that you wasted those money on a DSS-25 though.
