lynn... thanks for that, I had been wondering at what the difference would be. Why would the phone for the Japanese market not have GSM though? Is int'l roaming not an issue?

i guess it's because not everyone uses a SIM card in japan(??) or perhaps that's how they keep phones locked to their own network(??)...or perhaps the WCDMA version will be heaps cheaper(!!)

i hope they either sell all 3 colours internationally or have a WCDMA+GSM version available in japan so i can get hold of the white one.

*LOL*

Vodafone is releasing V800 and 9 other UMTS phones just in time for Christmas, then it will be exclusively sold with Vodafone as you all know for 6 months. So about summer 2005 sometime we can expect the "real" SE V800 and not some ugly messed up Vodafone phone.

@eric : 6 months? the F500i was exclusive for only a month!! surely SE is smart enough to realise how much they'll lose out if they delay it by so long!

by the way, some of the SE sites have updated their v800 pages. ALL 3 COLOURS will be available UNBRANDED!!! YAY!!!!!

kommer snart!!!

will not actually 'lose out' by having a long time vodafone exclusive. Vodafone is a lean mean selling machine and they will most likely be able to push a lot of handsets for

Most customers don't mind as much about the branding as esato members do
And by the time the 'unbranded version' is released somebody will have hacked their way past branded firmware as it is anyway.
