You don't have to hold it to your eye to see the lines, obviously they are more noticeable the closer you look at the screen pending on your own vision.

We are still talking about random lines aren't we? They are not there all the time.

They really look like interference to me, maybe from the phones transmitter.

I am not trying to find fault with the K700i, it's a really cool phone, I just want to establish the 'horizontal interference pattern' on the screen in a 'design feature' not a hardware fault.

Thanks for your comments it looks like most of you don't see this problem, therefore this could be some kind of hardware fault.

Do you think it's worth sending phone back as faulty?

Are the lines always on the same spot or do they move. If they are on the same spot it is not RF interference.

The lines cover the whole screen for a second or so then disappear.

They are feint horizontal lines spaced evenly and close together ghosting over the screen, looking a bit like an interlaced TV picture does close up.

My old T630 does it very occasionally, the K700i is every few minutes ish (can be up to 5 mins apart)
