Having used caligrapher on PocketPC I much prefer the P... single character method. Just like writting for real to me. Rarely make a mistake. Use keypad mainly for hidden password entries just to be 100% sure.

1. Handwriting (95% of the time)
2. P910i keypad (5%)
3. Virtual keypad (Never)

Practice makes perfect After using P series now for over 2 years I have become "expert" and every character. Only thing that catches me out sometimes is if you do a "space character" after an "l"which if you do too quick changes the "l" to a "t".

i used to have problems with the K, but i find it easier if you write it like so...

oh - and i just read this on the orange website...

"A flip-down keyboard means you can quickly write down emails, notes or contact details. Or you can use the P910i’s stylus to write notes directly on to its screen. It’ll even learn to recognise your handwriting."

it will "learn" your handwriting? this to me hints at whole words - is the handwriting input any different on the p910? or is it just orange being sloppy.

no, not whole words, it just means it will adapt to the way you write letters, because nobody's handwriting will perfectly match the software installed, so it will adapt itself, so it recognizes the letters more quickly.

I find the quickest and easiest way to text is to do it with the flip closed using T9. Takes seconds. Writing freehand is ok, but mistakes are too easy to make and with flip attached once the flips open you cant go back to using keypad.

I've figured that out for me. I always write the "space" to the left of where I scratch the "l". Initially I had to be concious, but its a habit now.

About the input....
almost always use the handwriting
use the virtual keyboard for hidden password fields tho

P800 virtual keyboard w/ ezitap all the time using the forefinger to tap and navigate. Very quick and accurate. No need for the stylus.
