Does the sim take less power? Does sim effect better reception? Any clear info?

Aparently the new sim will consume much less power from the batery then the old one. Don't know exaclty how it works. But I'll get back when I have recharged the phone. Aparently it's a known problem somehow altough I've never heard of it, and neveer heard of there beeing two different Sim cards 5 and 3 volt. But I'll get back to you guys in this thread after charging and using the phone. But at I've had the old sim card in the phone for 48 houers and the new one in for 24 houers, and I think I'll be able to use the phone whole day tomorrow to acording to the battery meter. And that aint bad compared to the 48 houers of "on-time" before the new R2L firmware.

Here in Manila we only have 3 volt - sims . . . An upgraded K700/i fone + an original BST-30 SE accessory batt will surely solve the problem here - I guess?

@bobafett - When I use to have my SE K700i back then, for stand-by time, about 2 days with "minimal usage" on calls, sms sending, games, downloads and picture taking and mp3 playing - and that was on the stock-R2A . . . firmware
! I never really ended up maximizing the use of the fone's call feature, as I rarely call up individuals, more on sms . . .

I've been using the phone today, and talked for about 10 min and sms:ed som, and the battery has been down on critical red alla day and still is. It has not yet complained about having to be charged. I think it will hold up untill I go to bed. Then I'll charge it. Then we'll se if it makes any big difference with the new sim.

@bobafett - Surely the fone's battery will give-in (within 12 hours) with continuous use mate . . . As they say, everything in life should be taken in . . . moderation - right
