You can get unlocked, unbranded phones from vodafone, its just a matter of perservering because they dont really like to give them away.
And it depends on the model of the phone, the k700 branding is bad, but on my p900 the branding didnt interfere with any functions, and it came unlocked.

Customer service is awful, which i also found about vodafone when iw as with them, vodafone i also found far to expensive aswell, with there customer service being arrogant and cocky, no offense to anyone who works there. I found orange to be much more concerning and helpful!
Heres my main probelm with o2. My texts never deliver to my phone, if people send me texts, they tend to all come at once. Which is useles when your arguinb with a bird! And then ther eis the problem that the recipitent of my texts can never reply automatically to my texts.
Just a few problems but really frustrating ones

hi - i dont quite understand your last point... are you saying that the recipient of your txts can't reply? why is that?
has anyone else had problems with text delivery?

That's the only problem with texts I've had.
heppell2k's problem with his friends not being able to reply directly (I guess he means by just pressing Reply at the end of a recieved msg) may be specific to him or his phone, as all my mates on O2 have no problems with that from anyone on any network. And I've not heard of anyone else with the same problem.

I've heard a few people complain about o2 text delivery, actually. The texts dont get delivered, and you get charged anyway! I found voda customer service extremely efficient and helpful, i have to say.

Price wise I dont think u can beat o2 theyve got so many deals is unreal. never had a vodafone so cant comment on them signal wise.
i have to say though my o2 signal kicks orange's my an absolute mile. its all over the place with orange but o2 i got a pretty much full signal everywhere I go
never need customer service personally

here that is quite interesting. It's also interesting to note that no UK operator got a good average score, with Virgin coming out the best (though this could have something to do with them only having 5 people vote for them so far, a bit unrepresentative!) and even then not getting a brilliant score.
