I got sapphire crystal on my clock, prefectly clear and I can take a
screwdriver and try to scratch it and it won't leave a mark.
I have to say that this is one of the conserns I have for S700 also
since they made the display face out instead of in as z600.

The screen is scratchproof in the sense that you can have the phone in your pocket among with your keys without scratching the display. Verified this from a developer at SE.
