You must not use it very much though.
Mine never makes it past a day & a half. I've used 5mb of GPRS today & a few hours of MP3s plus about 8 5-10min phone calls & 30 SMS

a few HOURS of mp3s? Try doing that with ANY PDA on the market and see how long it'll last. Hell, even my iPod won't last half a day of playing MP3s for a few hours

SE phones have THE longest standby time in the industry... mAh for mAh.

On the average, my P910 lasts a little under 2 days... 40 hours maybe. But I was surprised to get more than that since no matter what I did, under everyday use, my P800 gave me a MAX of 40 hours.

For those people who think Standby Time = Phone under FULL use time...

The P910 is rated at 400 hours STANDBY TIME... this is best case scenario... and will probably equal 300 hours real-world time IF your phone is left on standby and nothing more.

And is rated at 13 hours talk time... So if you do a rough breakdown... for every hour of use, you reduce the standby time by approx 30 hours.

If the phone states 400 hours standby time, this does NOT mean you can surf, make hours worth of calls, play movies and mp3s, and still get 400 hours of standby time.

An approx estimate would be, multiply the number of hours you're using your P910 by 30... regardless of how you use it... for as long as the screen is active, or it's playing audio... count it in. That's how many hours of standby time you're consuming. Then deduct that from the rated 400 hours... you'll get APPROX the number of hours standby you're getting now (This is not exact of course... this is just to give you guys an idea on how much we actually use our phones)

P-series users actually maximize our PDA functionality more than traditional PDA users. It's like, if we were all compared to car drivers, and battery life = gas consumption ... normal celfone users are like normal drivers... accelerate... cruise... stop. PDA users are like people who just travel short distances... corner store, a friend down the block..etc. P-series users... we're the guys whose foot doesn't let off the gas... no matter what we're doing... rpm at 6000...all the way.. always on sport mode.

PDAs only seem to last longer simply because they aren't left on 24/7. Once you're done with what you need to do, you switch it off and put it back in your pocket/briefcase. That's like a TOTAL of 1-2 hours use a day.

@bobafett - battery technology has not improved very much in the last fourteen years, but semiconductor/screen tech. has. So batt. life is getting shorter as we speak. Over are the glorious days when your R520 lasted a week easily.

No. It can only be done on a P910 or P900 with P910 firmware.

@ jplacson
I realise all that. I wasn't complaining simply giving a reference of my battery life against my heavy usage.
As long as I can use it to the max & it lasts a full day I'm happy

Ah all right. I'm actually surprised yours lasts that long considering the amount of GPRS and music play you use up.

Most heavy user I know only get 10 hours (well, they really play with it everyday... camera...video... surfing...)

But honestly, I think the problem with SE users is that we're generally spoiled... we do get the most advanced phones... and yet we still whine about more... then when it comes out...we bitch about the price... hahahaha
