Hehe, I can see that soome actually took me seriously on my last post.
JN: Nope, I'm not stupid

And, yes, I've tried the sync-station both with/without the charger plugged. I've done both normal upgrade and the restore mode.
Same results...

Guess I'll have to take it to the servcie-shop on monday then. :-|

You are looking at a motherboard replacement. Friend of mine had the same problem after upgrade to r2l done at service station. Fix was a replaced mainboard

All along I thought that upgrading your fone's firmware will not damage the fone itself? No matter how many times you've done it ? Now how come we are now talking of replacing the fone's - motherboard here !

Everytime you flash your phone, it is a risk. Perhaps it was an underlying problem which wasn't visible with R2A, but is with R2L on some handsets.

Eitherway, a replacement mobo was needed in my friend's case.

It is a 16pin eprom ic that poses the problem!if you have a good understanding and education in electronics like myself,It's a relatively simple task, with the aid of an oscilloscope and various test instruments, etc.the ic,or chip in laymans terms, costs about 4 pound from farnell or rs components! Or since the phone is under warranty, get the whole mobo replaced for free...

Don't quite understand you point man. If I mention get the mobo replaced since it is under warranty (ie free), of course I'm referring to SE service centre.

I guess @k700nut is mentioning about the author might have serviced
his fone in other shops where there are hopes that it can be remedied? Now, yes, our point is to bring the famaged fone first where he got it so that it can be serviced for FREE if still under warranty . . .
