Is it an old CRT monitor? as it sounds like a 'dry-joint' (bad solder connection breaks down after time)

Do you have a friend (male of course) that you can swap monitor with?

I think this may have already been covered in another post - but is the monitor's setting's in control panel set to 'interlaced' rather than 'non-interlaced'? Interlaced refreshing means that evey other line of pixels is refreshed first, then the lines that were missed out by the first 'refresh' are then done. Sorry for the rather poor explanation there, but that could be what's causing the monitor to flicker more. Also check that the refresh frequency - I believe anything above 70Hz is flicker-free. It's in Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced button>then the Monitor tab.

If it's none of this or any other settings on your computer, and you say it's a new monitor, take it back to the shop you got it from and get it swapped.

Yes yes yes! Its solved Guess the extension cord console was the culprit..i think it has gone bad I made a direct connection and vioa a flicker free monitor.

Another thing: Has anybody of u been able to make the settings of ur monitor perfect? I.e. the pincushion, geometry (trapezoid, pin balance, etc.) Mine seems quite inperfect (disbalanced sort of ) if u know what i mean...

edit: it's started flickering again!!!!!!! Wtf is happening?? How cud this be? I constantly tried it
