jojo, as far as i'm concerned anybody and everybody can do with/to their phones as they damned well please... I really am not bothered in any way.
Common sense dictates one should follow the advice in the manual.... but why use common sense when one has a forum like this at ones disposal?

Vlammetje - Of course you won't see it, because there's just - NONE! Now who's paranoid here ?. . .

What I was just trying to imply with my last post is that, if you'll just keep chargin' your fone at your own disposal/method/style without having following the manual's advise, probabilities are high that your fone might just have a shortened-life eventually, might result to an early - burial! So, in effect you are just wasting some money here right, and just who in the world can dispose that amount (price of an S700) of money - pronto aside from the insane ones . . . who else but the, RICH personalities, which names are posted back there, now get my point (of no return) here my friend?
Let's just end this OK, as I am forgetting all about our agreement back there, not crossing each others threads/post as to preserve our damaged-friendship then . . PEACE!

I see no reason to suspect the phone will blow up or become useless if one chooses not to charge it for 4 hours
it's got f.. all to do with money... it's all about wanting to play!
Today's batteries are not (or at least should not be) so bad they won't cope if they don't get the exact full 4 hours.
Granted... in the long term it might have a shorter total life span.... but like I said mine's been excellent for almost a year and I do not intend to keep this phone for much longer. Most ppl here tend to change phones a lot more often than i do so the chance they will know that battery didn't make it to it's 3rd year is slim, to say the very least

if you really want to get the best life out of your battery- before charging always rub garlic on the screen, plug the phone in them spin thrice clockwise shouting 'bananas', paint yourself blue, and when the phone is nearly charged unplug it and bury it in dry soil for a week. Then, as long as you never turn the phone on again, you will never have a 'low battery' message.
