@vanquish - very good point! £500 is a lot of money to pay for a phone which, apart from that 1.3mp camera and the obvious styling changes, doesn't really justify the £200-300 price difference.
I have a K700, and the pictures that takes imo are very good. I did actually use them for holiday photos this year, but for things like that in the future I'll be using my newly-bought Olympus digi cam.
Due to the size of lenses, and moving parts involved in these lenses I can't see camera phones totally replacing conventional digital cameras just yet. And despite rumours of 5mp camera phones, I somehow think that my 3mp 'proper' digital camera would take much better pictures due to the larger sized lens.
Just one little point though @vanquish - if you don't like the S700i and have no intention of buying it - why have you got it as your avatar?

@vanquish
I'm not disagreeing with you that it's overpriced and your umpteenth list justifying why is unnecessary - I've got a P910i as is fairly obvious!
I'm just curious as to what is driving your one-man S700i destruction campaign??

thankyou sammy boy. you read my thoughts! i am not very good at stating what i mean - and you have perfectly.
thanks. also, just because

is the best, doesnt mean its a sin to criticise them! i learnt his about 10 months ago, and although they are the best mobile phone manufacturer they still make mistakes.
i do like the s700i sammy_boy, dont get me wrong, but as you can see in my signature there is one wee problem, which i make clear

Interestin enough, both Philips and Casio (I think) have actually managed to manufacture camera phone optics providing optical zoom.

i love the s700i apart from its price! lower it to about 299.99 (300 sounds too much

) and i will stop complaining.
i am just SICK AND TIRED of ppl thinking that all of

is amazing. every body is constantly kissing sony ericssons arse, and although they do a double better job than any manufacturer of mobile phone not only through opinion but through factual evidence, they can make mistakes.
the j200 looks crap, the k500i doesnt have enough memory, the s700i is priced to high. i think

are amazing in terms of technology and design, and always will, but they can make mistakes and just want them to see that they have and stop sitting on their fat arses and do something about it! sure, the yak on about their amazing profit increase and its starting to get to them. they are thinking - why bother? when

started they were revolutionary. the first smartphone. the first colour phone. the smallest first camera phone (in built). but now, they are starting to do a nokia and realise that they can cut corners. price what looks an amazing fully featured phone like the s700i too high, and people have fallen for it. say that the k500i has amazing features like video, photo, mp3 and only put 8 mb of memory, when you can pay 40 quid more and get a 41 mb k700i. make a phone that looks like a motorola that has been crapped on like the j200.

phone like p910i, t630, k700i are great - but they do need to concentrate on
all their models, not just use the best ones to make it look like the whole range is top quality and top featured.

i don't think the s700i is too expensive i got it for £79.99 on o2 250! and a i just got a 7.2 mega pixel cybershot P150 for £275, so thats £354.99 in total so i got a better camera and better phone for a few quid extra, who cares.
Yes the s700i is to expensive sim free, but give it a few months and it will be cheaper, like everything, if you buy it first you pay expensive prices.

you raise a fair point super however you do have to take into account that you have a 12 month contract at about £30 a month making the total you pay for the handset- £439.99. at the end of the day something is worth what people are prepered to pay for it. if you think its a good deal then it is.

@superluminova
Mate,
You did well! £79.99 in the end. Where'd the extra £20 come from? Trade-in?
Seriously, though, I'm really sorry about that!
