i doubt very much that it would say London PD as he lives in Lisbon, now that would be a bugger getting an ambalance from london to lisbon

Only ur network at the moment is out of signal
(like in Malaysia Digi out of signal but other network suck as celcom or maxis still ring)
tats why emergency calls are still able to make

Correct. So long as the phone can find *any* GSM signal you can make an emergency call, SIM or no SIM.
