I just got my P910i 2 days ago, and it's nice. However, it's locked to vodafone. Daniel, did they ask for your IMEI before they gave you the unlock code? If not, does it mean that the unlock code is unique that people can share with each other?

Mine was locked to Voda and I specified at point of sale that I would only buy the phone unlocked, they agreed to unlock (gave me the unlock code) and I got a sim free phone, however there is still the problem of changing the internet/wap settings which can only be achieved with a generic SE Flash to the phone, this debrands and removes any trace of Voda. this I had to pay for from CPW and that was at the advice of my Vodafone shop.

I am keen to get rid of the Vodaphone stuff too. So if i take my phone to Carphone Warehouse they will flash it? Does it matter if i bought it from the Vodaphone shop and not CPW? How much is the charge for flashing my wonderful P910i?

@robotskin
Yes you need to provide them your IMEI no. They will then give you the code to unlock it. Some people said they can provide you the code straight away, but Singlepoint told me it would take a few days. I suppose they were trying to drag me...

Hi, I am new to this site but not to the phones, I have owned P800, and have a P900 (for sale) and now own a P910i which I got for a bargain on eBay. I did my homework prior to buying the phone as I got a cheaper one due to being locked and branded Vodaphone. It was boxed as new and sold as an unwanted upgrade, there are plenty of these for sale at good prices because many people find them too difficult or challenging to use. Anyway I sent it to a chap called Tarek at Above Connection in London via insured post. www.aboveconnection.co.uk
They unlocked and unbranded my P910i for £20 including return insured post, and emailed me with progress reports etc. I know there are lots of ways of getting it done free or cheap via CPW etc, but this way I didn't have to go anywhere other than the post office.
The combined price of brand new phone plus the unbranding/unlocking fee has still saved me over £200 on the cost of a SIM free one elsewhere. This was due to doing the right homework and some careful bidding on the right eBay seller.
I am aware that I will not be able to use the online upgrade service but I have to be honest I never used it for my P900 in the last year as it worked perfectly and I never got the urge to change what I regarded as a perfect phone, until the P910i came along, and yes it is a better phone and so was worth the hardware upgrade for my needs.
Good Hunting

I have a Tmobiel P910i. Pity the phone will still have the Tmobile logo on the front and on the internet key after the software has been debranded

So if you unlock the phone, debrand it, can you then change the start up and shutdown mp4's for example?
