here is my few cents, I'd think that SE tend to make higher quality phone compare to the other company. Since they are small manufacture, it is not possible to release a newly modelled phone every month. So they choose to build a quality phone instead, which they did quiet well to my knowledge, cuz the phone does attract the mid-high people. On the other hand, Nokia has been releasing low end phone from years and years, step back and think, if you are buying a quality phone, will u buy a SE phone or Nokia?
the new T200 series are for low end people, which that is the area they have not been stepped in.
Much clear example, Mercedez Benz has been aimed for mid-high people, while Honda are mainly focuses on lower people. Now Benz releases the C series just to attract the lower people, which they did not bad getting the balance of, price and quality. But then you still see lots of Honda car out there in the market anyways, cuz they are cheap, but quality sucks.

SE may hv the highest avg selling price of phone. However, SE profit margins on phone is one of the lowest. SE sold more high-end phones, you would expect the profit margin to be better.

SE smartphone sales in fact drop in volume. This is quite bad given the fact that Nokia posted 190% increase in volume.
I'm not so upbeat about UIQ 3. Looks like it hv been delayed.

your points sound reasonable. i hv just one thing to add. Since SE is small and face many challenges, so it must go the extra mile to shine above the others. It cannot do that if it just swim in the sea of mediocrity as some others are doing.

People blindly buy Nokia, As they cannot think beyond it..But in last 2 years after a good success of T-610 SE share of the market has picked up..but still a slump..! One thing for sure SE India has bunch of really nice people who are open to customer satisfaction..Where else have they replaced a Z 600 with a brand new K 700i which had a cost difference considering I used My Z 600 for 3 months..They took no charge absolutely...Keep up the good work SE, Customers should be treated like Kings not Slaves at least that's what Nokia India does..

its the very low profit margin its making on its phones i dont expect it to make as muc as the top 3 as they can get there materials at much lower prices.
however to be working on a profit margin half of the rest of the sector and still be one of the most expensive is the most worrying bit
as its stand se could nt afford to get into a price war without losing money but they are vunerible from the big hitters-nokia etc who could go down this route

remember the Q2 results. from about 8.8 tot 10.3 that was alot. more then i expected. i knew Q3 results couldn't be as good. and i was right they only grew with 3-4 mil extra phones sold. profit increase was also very slim. but they took over 2 manufactories, so there goes the money.
SE prodicts to have the best Q ever in Q4.
i see that the K700 commercial is back on TV. probably because of the low sales. only half of what the T610 sold. probably because: K700 costs more, strong competion and the TV add wasn't really nice.
i doubt that SE will have a super Q this Q. i can only hope for the best.
i myself bought a P910 this Q, so thats already one phone sold
i see where SE is going. they are slightly increasing there phone line.
still depending on the help of Arima tough, which i don't really like.
SE will focus on more segments, which is about time actually.
SE is losing fans and intrest. mostly because of little inovation, new designing. and also because they hold back introductions of new phones. but the launch dates are now sooner this way.
i predict that SE isn't gonne go up much during the next 2Q's. i know some info on the new phones but i haven't seen them, and design also counts on the global market. so i can't predict whats gonna happen in the future. except that most brands will keep rising, except Siemens.
but we could all help SE, by buying something extra this Q and promoting to friends, some of you are already doing it, and i'm glad for that. but we can all try a little bit harder.

Indeed, the newspaper here are full with adv of different brands, but se is a rarity, only t630 is adv with t-mobile contract and k7 in tv. Se must be more hard with adv, no need to launch weekly fones, more to make ppl feel that 1 fone offers more then 5 others of diff brands.

service point... we chat about SE and phone comparos... again QoQ results dont mean much... it might just be a blip as sadi before.. the market share is something which SE has to grab from from more effecient and established players like the nokia and samsung... considering that i think the results are OK. (not very goood or good, just OK)

Might be se lost a battle, but not the war. And nobody can be constantly at the top. Today features like cam, multi-med gadgets are the hits in a fone - sadly imho. If a fone is in pole position cos of those features, then let it be and let them be happy with that result. An e800 infra is able to send contacts with the infra and thats all. And ppl prefer it over a t6x0...
