I'd do as Staz says and take it apart and gently clean off the affected areas. Often water-damaged phones will work for a few days or even a week or so after the initial soaking, then slowly die a death.
Also, if you can get hold of some Isopropyl Alcohol (I use medical swabs!
) that cleans pcbs up a treat without damaging anything as, being alcohol-based they evaporate.
