They're made from conductive rubber.over a period of time,they either wear(tv remote uses same),oxidise(due to smoke,etc),or get various deposits on them.but like ALL things mechanical,they eventually give in.nothing at all lasts forever!

hi i have removed the front cover and the keypad (yes i do know what i am doing) so only the button contacts are showing and it seems that the contacts are faulty the said buttons only work if pushed very hard (which can't be good for the phone) also the contacts don't look like they are removable.
anyone have any ideas how much a repair would cost or should I resign my T68i to phone heaven

Hope he can get a new one. Think t68 will be in use in the next future aswell, se mustnt forget to support any of their models.

there is no rush to fix the phone as I am using a T630 but I do want the phone fixed (sentimental value) so getting another t68i just wouldn't be the same

uk but in all honesty I can see the repair costing more than the phone is worth. Last time I used them to fix a HBH-30 they told me £89 when a new one would have cost £50.

Think thats an acceptable price if its an important fone for somebody. In a service are the best equipments for cleaning, these fones one of the biggest enemy is dust. Not onlx at keypad etc even irritating under the screen.
