I thought it was something like that, it only really happens in poor signal areas so that makes sense.

@SCORPIONKING1982
It's actually a rather useful feature when you think about it, rather than just saying 'No Network Available'.

yeah it is really, Im not sure if nokia's or anyone else display 'sos calls only' too, I think it may just be SE's!
You can even call the emergency numbers without a sim in the phone which is a good idea too!

well i rang vodaphone and they said it has been blacklisted - they were sympathetic about it too which i wasnt expecting
they dont know who did it and told me to go back to the cash generator store were i got it and ask them if they had blacklisted it or what they could do
so i rang the shop and they said they would replace it or offer an alternative of similar value - only thing is after i had had the phone 30 days i think i threw the reciept away as after 30 days the guarantee is up - oops
the bloke said that it didnt sound good but to go speak to the manager and explain (nicely lol) and that the final decision would be up to him
anyway i hated the k700i so i have ordered a nokia 7610 from dialaphone (i can hear all you se fans screaming in horror

)
so hopefully i will either get a replacement or sell here or on ebay for spares
if anyones interested then pm your offers
thanks for everyones help
god help the little B*****D who did this

Just wondering why you rang Vodafone when your questions were about O2?

he rang voda because the phone was originally a voda (he unlocked it) and if it had been blacklisted it would have been by them.

Vodaphone really are a bunch of tossers. I got a supposedly 'free' K700i [from loyalty points]
However, it's so crippled by Voda-crap-tomisations it's made me think they are even bigger tossers than before. I'm ending all the contracts with my staff phones first thing monday morning.

Why would anybody blacklist a phone that was never reported stolen though?
