yeh t68i is a shithot fone
might go back to using it
but even my old 3250's(or was it 3210?) signal was full all the time
dont tink ive ever had full bars on my t610.

Well you all slightly mistaken, A full signal strength in a Nokia need not mean better connectivity..Its is quite common for the phone to miss calls or drop calls even when displaying full coverage,Its all operator dependent on quality/clarity/signal strength...!

Exactly! Just like on a computer when you're defragmenting or copying some files, it says sumthin like 90% but it might not be ANYWHERE close to that! Therefore, the signal indicator too vary on different phones.

....there have been improvements on sims, so if yours is very old it would be worth asking n/work for a new one (it should be freebie - so you have nothing to loose and everything to "gain" (pun intended
)
p.s. has anyone else notice how esato webpage cripples your cut/copy/paste shortcuts? - i have to shut the page down before i get them back & sometime have to reboot

Signal strenght depends on network and phone capabilities. Some phones, like T68i, have better signal reception than others, but it doesn't means better connection, as sometimes with full signal your network can be busy and you won't get any calls.

I find the signal indicator on the k7 much better than my t68i,but my lovely t39m beats them both(probably due to stub antenna).like scotsboy and jn said though,the signal indicator is only a rough guidance,and is by no means totally accurate.if i completely shield the upper half of my phones with my hand cupped...the signal indicator flickers on 1 bar,but i can maintain and decipher speech with no problems at all.

Yeah . . . I guess that fone's with external antenna gives much better and 'clearer' reception than ones with built-in's . . .
