I have just got my phone back from CPW, they had it for 2 weeks. They flashed the phone, but i still cannot chnage the WAP settings. Therefore, the flash did not work!
Can anyone tell me if they have had their phone flashed by CPW and it worked.

Also...M.Noordin where did you get your phone unbranded from....tel no

Thx

It sounds as if they have simply flashed the phone with Vodafone fimrware, I took mine in and picked it up half an hour later and it was sorted. I hope you didn't pay for that to be done?

Again let me stress I simply asked them how I could get rid of the WAP / Internet locked setting as Vodafone had advised me to go to CPW and that they could sort it for me. then I let them suggest a generic flash. I knew exactly what I wanted doing but also knew that if I suggested it they were likely to refuse,

Fisrtly I explained the situation to them, that I had bought the phone on the condition it was unlocked as I wanted to be able to use the Triband in different countries on multiple Sim cards. and that now I had found out I could not use the other Sim cards online I was considering taking it back to Vodafone and getting a refund as it was not fully unlocked, that was when Vodafone suggested I go to CPW because the Voda shop didn't have their own engineer on site.

Then I also let it slip that I didn't mind paying to get this unlocked as I was fed up not being able to connect to the Web on my other cards which I use for work.

Hi, I recently got both my P900 (selling) & P910i unlocked and unbranded via www.aboveconnection.co.uk who I posted the phones to and were fantastic, they charged £20 per phone including return insured P&P. However the support site they use has gone down for a few weeks and so my friend and I went to CPW in Canterbury to get the job done there. I spoke to the manager who was spot on, he obviously knew exactly what was required, even though I played ignorant asking for the MMS and WAP settings to be set up so that other settings could be put in and the like (ignorant) and laughed at what I was saying, I saw him write Generic Flash Required on the work card, and it was done under warranty free. The phone is now as if it were to come from SE directly. As for future flash updates, I shall take my own one there now for convenience, they are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and spot on, and again there is always above connection for me to fall back on, hope you get there in the end.

Just the normal carphone warehouse - there is only one in Canterbury but it not in the town centre but on the outskirts of town.

Im popping in this afternoon to try getting it debranded. Ill update you after lunch.

Yes the Canterbury CPW is on Sturry Road on the outskirts opposite Asda, near to the B&Q superstore, I found them very good for a high street store, good luck, and remember to act ignorant and just ask for the MMS/WAP settings to be unlocked and you should get an unbranded phone in the process, I shall check back to see how it goes !

@rockabillydoghandler

Hey do you think i could get CPW in canterbury to unbrand my t-mob K700? It is probably harder to get a branch manager to have a K700 flashed with generic software than it is for a P910, yet do you think it is worth a try?

I remember going to the same branch in canterbury with a broken button on my t68 (bought from greece!!!) which they immeditely fixed and flashed with the latest software absolutely free! Great store they are!
