@reeza, I had mine fixed by an unauthorized servicepoint after the online update corrupted the default theme thus after master reset the fone could not load the theme and made it unusable.(w/c never happened before!) mine had r2l in it.

@kenski did the online update ever work at all for you or was it a problem first go. When it stuff your phone where you already running with r2l. From what I'm seeing must people before r2l using online update had no problems it was once the phone had r2l then using the online update is when people starting having problems. I wandering if r2l for some reason has a problem using the online update service.

Cheers,

Hi Guys,

Is it just my connection or is the K700i on-line update service gone off-line? If it has gone off-line and it's not my connection, I wonder if they have found a problem with it?

Cheers,

@reeza

i already had R2L on my phone when i tried the online update. i had my phone upgraded to R2L by a authorized sony ericsson service point here in manila. i just wanted to try out if the online update really works. i was hoping to get a message that my phone is already using the latest version (like what massuer got when he tried the online update with R2L already on his K700i) but the online update just continued updating my phone. i didn't interrupt it because you should not interrupt, in any way, the update once it has started. some people also didn't get any message that their phone is already using the latest version (at that time). the online update just continued on updating their phones. anyway from what i remember it has been around 1 1/2 months already since i last used the online update. fortunately my phone hasn't shown any problems since. also my battery was fully charged and i had around 30MB of free memory. hope this helps.

Well I just flashed 2 K700is today, one worked perfect, the other is doing the same as the thread starters.

It wont go past 93% when I flash it and then it says 'communication error' and I get the white flashing screen.

Tried the recovery option a few times, still always stalls at 93%.

Did anyone find a reason/fix for this?

@DJ Fusion - Sorry dude, i've had no luck in finding a away around it. I ended up taking it to my local service centre where that had to re flash it for me. Don't know if I ever want to try it again.

I emailed SE and I think anyone who has the same problem should also email them so they know that people are having this problem with their update service.

Hi kenski. Yeah the phone is fine now it's got R2AA003 on it now. I think I'll wait till I stop hearing these kind of stories before I try again, or maybe I'll try again about a few weeks before the warranty runs out so if it happens again, I can just take it back the service centre

I wonder if there is this much trouble with the P900 update service?

But I still encourage people who have this problem to let SE know about it.

Cheers,

Hi reeza, I'm glad to hear that your local SE service center was able to restore the phone for you - I thought I might have nuked it for good.

I'll let you know how I go.

Same problem here guys (Unbranded K700i, DSS-25). S-E auto update to 99% then dead as a proverbial. Feco, would appreciate knowing how you got on with Totalserver/DaVinci. Did you have to debrand, kill RSA or what? Good luck guys.
