I don't see why it's such a big issue! If it's just that u don't have a spare SIM to put in it then GET ONE, they're not exactly hard to come by.
Apply to o2 for a FREE Online SIM. You can put this in without even activating it & the phone will come on.

The Epoc/Symbian phones are a family on different platform. Think they are separatly designed.
