@ lightbulb how did you manage to install tracker on your Orange P910? mine keeps bringing up two different IMEI numbers so i cant install it for some reason. @ dave_uk sorry to shatter your dreams of getting your P910i flashed with generic firmware but it aint gonna happen m8! as Orange have to authorise any updates for their phones, and guess what... they wont, unless its one of their on updates. not good! I installed the trial version . When i had the 7650 on Orange there was bugger all customisation apart from the colours and operator logo so I bought the software straight off. After reading pages and pages about people wanting to unbrand their p910s I thought I'd try the trials out first incase the excessive customisation affected them

@BlackBauer

1) Don't worry mate, you're not shattering my dreams cos you're not right. I am not intending to flash it via SEUS, as I am aware this is not possible, however serviec centres have access to an open system, used for flashing other handsets that don't work with SEUS as well, which are perfectly able to flash branded handsets with generic firmware. The issue with which you are confused is that, apparently, once this is done, I will not be able to update to the latest generic firmware via SEUS, as it will recognise my IMEI as being Orange-locked. However, I have been advised that unlocking and unbranding should solve this problem, but even if it doesn't, I'm quite prepared to go down the road to my service centre and get them to do it, to get rid of this sodding Orange FW.

2) Email Symbianware with your new IMEI, the one beginning 147..., and they will be able to provide a new reg code for Tracker. I upgraded from P900 to P910i and had exactly the same problem which is now solved!

Cheers,

Dave

is there anyone in here, who knows where (London only) or how to unlock and unbrand Sony Ericsson p910i (Orange netw.)? If yes, please let me know. Thanks a lot. K

Orange on Oxford street, just past Oxford Circus tube going towards bond Street (About 100m). They'll unbrand it for you. Tottenham Court Road to unlock it.

This has been mentioned before but,

in c:\system\autostart there is a file, homescreen.asf I think its called. Rename it to something or other so it wont be found.
Install the new Sony Ericsson Desktop from the sonyericsson web site on your phone.
Now deinstall the Sony Ericsson Desktop. It must then want to restore the original orange homescreen but cant find it so 'unlocks' this portion of the orange branding.

Your Tracker should then work better.

PS : your phone is still locked to orange thought.....
goos luck
