> S700i camera light as a Torch

If it wasn't capable of remaining on then surely SE would have made the software automatically turn it off after a period of time

It seems they've added the ability to activate it outside the camera mode then.
I'd be interested to know where in the menu it is.

How long do LED's last?
Red, Amber, Orange LEDs have a typical life of up to 100,000 hours (or 11 years of constant usage). You can always slide the "lock" button on the side of the S700 when in camera mode to activate the light, therefore avoid going througgh the settinngs menu.
Sorry if someone else already suggested this before but Im in a hurry right now and dont have time to read all the posts.

As i see its a perfect way to drain the batt. I would prefer the blue torch as attach accesoire, almost no extra power of batt at usage.
