Hi Just one small point the search facility on this site is not that simple to use until you have got the hang of it! when I was new I tried many times to find things without much success, Whilst I was lucky I did not meet with much sarcasm I did get some none the less.
I am less likley to be annoyed by this as I run a business in the IT and telecoms recruitment industry and am well used to dealing with technical IT staff. and I am affraid that many of them often treat those who "do not know a simple thing like that" with a somewhat self righteous condecending attitude. Given the amount of rubbish code I am asked to supply staff to correct, I personaly find these attitudes somewhat puzzling!!!!
If someone posts a question without searching or RTFM (another very annoying abreviation the more "web savy" often seem to use here I can only assume as to what it means!!!) so what? are they really causing a life threatening incident? NO chill out a bit some of you, it's a forum NOT a living!

why bother?
if you have an answer - give it, perhaps a link too, maybe ad

if you want to give a hint, but this can happen still friendly.
And if you havenīt got an answer or youīre why-so-ever p**** off - donīt care and leave the thread..
the rest is up to the moderators - which are doing a good job! (but Iīm a little bit annoyed if they delete threads when Iīm still reading them..

Also bear in mind that many other people may benefit from seeing a topic discussed or a question asked again.
Sometimes peoples knowledge increases over time and next time round you might be able to answer a repeat question more precisely and more successfully than before.
The search on this site is useless in my opinion, its very rarely successful in finding what I want. and its not the easiest board to navigate either.. not in comparison to other ones I use.
Plus, I may be wrong but is there a policy on this board that only allows a question to be asked once then never ever ever again by anoyone else??
I DO agree that dumb questions should be ignored, like "how do I turn my phone on?" or "How do I write a text message?" but in the main I feel most questions are perfectly legit and acceptable to ask....even twice. To many minds complex phones are hard to get to grips with and some people learn better by asking, talking and trying rather than sitting there Reading TFM! (how insulting).
Those of you that post that stupid blue guy up holiding the banner, and those that insult those that dare to ask.... should be ashamed of yourselves... not very "board spirited". We must all show tolerance and understanding to the next man. Or woman of course!
In my opinion.

@frontman
Absolutely right mate - the attitude shown by some people here is quite amazing. It's as if some users navigate with their heads lodged in their backsides.
We were all new once, we all asked stupid questions (well, I did, back in the day!!)
Whatever your point of view, rudeness in response to a genuine question is not on, and if you don't think that's right, read the Forum Rules, which will tell you exactly the same thing!

Wow! That's exactly what I'm looking for!
Anyone know of any program which designed solely (spelling?) for this puropse?

I was in no way advocating that esato members should be rude to new posters, or to people who ask 'basic' questions. My previous post: "If there is a new poster with a question, that is fair enough, and I believe help should be provided to genuine queries". I was merely trying to add a perspective as to why some members might find particular questions frustrating. I know that many of my own questions could seem fairly basic to other people, and therefore understand the relativity which exists between the experience of posters on this forum.
P.S. I agree with the view on the "RTFM" reply, that is very rude, and infuriating.
