opened up my phone again and eeeek.

So there was this thing (top left, under a rubber thing, on the back of the p900) once i took out the main board, this circular shaped thing (presuming it's the arial. - noticable on the p800) it was hanging on my one connector instead of two. I did something, and hey, it fell off, and now my phone says i've got 5 bars of signal. Even though i'm pretty sure that was the arial, and now it's completely knackered.

Could souldering it back on work, or should i call the insurance company? (or have i invalidated the warrantee?)

silly boy

If you have insurance, just tell 'em you dropped it. If not, stick the aerial back in, put the phone back together, call them and tell them it doesn't work and plead ignorance.

Works (almost) every time!

Yup, sounds like what i'm going to have to do. Don't have phone insurance, but my house insurance covers it. I've already claimed from a broken screen.

Cheers though.

Don't tell them you took it apart as that invalidates any warranty AND insurance!

Reading your description again, do u mean a circular gold connector type thing, covered by a rubber plug?
I think so. This is the connecter for attaching an external aerial e.g. in a car. The lack of this connecter shouldn't affect the phones performance.
Possibly the damage was making the phone try to use an external aerial (that wasn't there) instead of the internal one. Now it's fallen off completely the phone has reverted to the internal aerial & works again.

nope. It's just not working now with either networks.

No idea what i did. But i'm going to send it away. My mom's house insurance should cover it.

Either way, it appears i'll be getting the p910 sooner than anticipated! lol.

So the lesson here is don't take your phone to bits if u don't fully know what you're doing!

yes, and if it's stuck. There's probably still a screw in, and no matter how much you try to prive it off, it's not going to come! lol.
