Hiya,
I, too had this problem with T68i handsets, and know of many others who experienced it (I used to work in mobile retail), but I can honestly say that I've had no complaints with any of the P series handsets I've used over the last 2 years. P800/900 and 910i all perform with flying colours as far as signal strength is concerned.

@aya nokia cheats a bit at signal strengh, the indicator is usually on max, thats impossible.

cheating or not cheating - nokia did way better than my P800 is doing (and I donīt give a f*** on the display, itīs the question of 'to have receiption or not')..

my previous se phones t68 and t610 always had poorer reception than other phone i had used ie my current phone 6600
not related to the signal bar as i use this as a guide to wether call or sms can be sent not the absolute truth.
i always found nokias samsungs and motos have better call quality i can hear the other person and they can hear me
this is how i test signal strength and quality. se has lagged behind other manufactures in this department
tested a k700 not long ago on my network and found this to be on par with my nk 6600 if not slightly better so i think se have finally sorted it out
with the current crop of phones
do agree older models had slight disadvantage in this area but not now

Don't do it! That 6260 is horrible - the flip feels like it will just twist off in your hand. If you are going to defect
but you want to retain functionality, I'd go for a 6230 or maybe a Motorola V3 (very popular on this forum for a non-
phone.
But, personally, I would recommend the P910i without hesitation.

I have used almost every candybar SE model to date and i can confirm that the rf is not that good with one BIG exception, the K700, finaly SE has put their act together and made an good RF performer, i have really bad rf at work and these days i easily outperforms my friends Nokia 6230, Siemens m65, Samsung e700.
So if you nead good rf performance it is no nead to buy any other brand, just go for the K700
