If you don't care about bluetooth, radio, small memory, then K500i might be good enough for you. Check the design too, because personally I don't like the design of the k500i.
If you're not on a budget then I would strongly suggest the K700i as the features are well worth the extra $ IMO.

Features are all very well, but if the features are so close that you cannot use them to decide, which seems to be the case here, then actually seeing the handsets side by side may help. Try to imagine, which one you would want to use for the next year or so.

I would say go in for a 700 coz mainly it has big mem and screen is 100 times better than 500. I think the batt issue will be solved shortly when se launch the polymer batt and when they do so we will be entitled for a replacement.

, and it has a vast array of features. It has a photolight which kinda works, a much much better camera and video camera. The games are the same, and the radio is brilliant quality. The loudspeaker is crisp and clear. If you dont mind putting your phone on charge nightly, then have no worries about the battery, its absolutely fine. The screen is way better, the k500 screen is brighter but you can see the individual pixels therefore isnt a high resoltuion. The k700 is just all round a better phone.
I got mine for 160 pounds on orange, and the branding is abosultely un-noticeable! In fact, the icons are quite nice
