I had a similar problem with my P800 ,but not as drastic as losing battery life within 4 - 6 hours. Anyway, I noticed that the battery life shortens a bit. Back then, I had almost all of my apps (Sman and Tracker included) installed on the memory stick. I got fed up and reformatted the memory stick, and performed a reset. Then, I installed all apps that run in the background onto the phone memory (Sman, Tracker 3.x, advanced call manager, etc) and the rest onto the memory stick. Seems to have worked for me.
Give that a try and let us know what you find out. No need to re-format though. Just remove, and then install the apps onto the phone memory and memory stick as appropriate.
Right now, I can stretch the battery life up to 5 days, but that's with minimal usage (a few SMS a day, synch up with outlook in the office, and a few calls). Right now, I'm running at 2 days max since I bought a 128MB memory stick and used it as an mp3 player.

From what I understand, if you perform a restore after a backup and format, you will return your phone to the state it was in right before you performed the backup. It will be as though you did not perform a format at all.
Anyone, feel free to correct me if I was mistaken.

So I tried uninstalling any recent apps but still nothing so I have taken the step and just reset my phone to factory state and re-synced everything and gave my battery a good charge. We'll see how it goes today!

Are these batteries original SE batteries?
One thing you have to remember about Lithium based batteries...
DO NOT DISCHARGE THEM!!!!!
I repeat DO NOT DISCHARGE THEM!!!!
Do not allow any lithium based battery to go dead. Repeated discharging will damage the internal cells and shorten the charge life to about the stated 4-6 hours... with or without use.
You can, and should charge a lithium based battery when there's about 1/4 charge left.

They are original. I did not know that you could not discharge them. Mind you, most of the time, when they get to 20-25% I recharge them but it has happened that I have been out and they have gone down to the critical low battery signal. Perhaps that has caused them harm.

I don't think so. Critically low power is still fine... it's when people wait til the phone dies... or even worse... use those little LEDs to drain the little power that's left in the battery.
Extreme heat can also damage it as well.
Or it might be something as simple as dirty battery contacts... your battery may not be charging right if the contacts on the phone or battery are dirty.
