I can send mail using a v800 and vodafone authenticated smtp server. Almost any e-mail profider I can send mail using the smtp server from vodafone. some profiders though block sending through the smtp server from vodafone.

UK vodafone SMTP is www.vizzavi.co.uk and that worked fine for me. I had my V800 unlocked and was also using the german O2 sim card briefly and my aussie telstra sim card and all their SMTPs worked fine from any of the accounts I had set up

I'd be very surprised if vodafone branding had anything to do with this problem

yes I use dutch vodafone.
incomming server is your own profider
outgoing is authsmtp.vodafone.nl
works perfect with most profiders, but some and it will get more, block the outgoing server of vodafone. They don't like it and see it as a potantial source of spamming (like hotmail you have to pay now)

I have been in contact first with VF who blamed SE and told me that V800 doesn't have SMTP-authorisation for the V800. I didn't belived them and contacted SE who told me that almost every phone the last few years ago supported SMTP-authorisation and they didn't know why VF told me not.

I will call Telia who is my ISP and who I have my mail at.... and see what they'll say.. I'll come back to you all..
