@frontman - my comments weren't directed at you, just to others earlier in this thread.....

This topic is going to get locked but anyway, for the record....

I don't think it is for anyone to decide what is or is not messageboard material (unless they happen to be a mod, of course). We are all free to post or not to post, according to our wills, and I therefore don't see the need for the animosity (frontman, before you say anything, you were not displaying any animosity ). I, like many others, am happy to help out first-timers with questions that may seem obvious, and I agree that this was a pretty basic question. Without descending into the irrelevant, my point was also that I did not know that you could hold down the stylus and drag through selecting messages - it may or may not be in the manual, I don't really care, but I would most likely not have known it had the question not been asked and sammy answered it.

I can't see what the issue is - if anything, I am more annoyed by people who seem to think they have a divine right to have their questions answered, or post rudely. Asking an innocent question is the whole point of the forum in the first place. It should not be discouraged and once people have been around for a while, they will hopefully pick up the use of the not-always-helpful search function and reduce some of the more mundane posts, but in the meantime, live and let live. If you don't want to help, that's cool, though I do think that, to a certain extent, you get out of these forums what you put in - sorry for the cliches!

First of all I dont *have* a menu option "messages" under the four circles (ie Applications/ tools?) icon top right.

But I clicked on the envelope icon...
then clicked on SMS...
then Edit, yes...

AH-HA! I see "Select All" - bl**dy H !
There is is. Just what I was looking for.

But why doesnt it have a radio button beside it?!

Sorry folks! I subconsciously never even SAW that damned option because it looked like a title not like something you can click on.

Easy when you know how, eh.

Except that now it's moaning at me "Do I want to create some more space"... Deleting 565 items seems to be taking forever.... Busy... Busy... How hard can it be for a computer to delete some data?!

It's been running for 120 seconds now.
I'll let it run a bit longer then get back to you.

BTW, is it safe to use McAfee and the P900 on the same PC yet? About 6 months ago I wasted many hours of my life trying to get my PC to talk to phone - but in the end it seems that there was absolutely NOTHING that could make my PC talk to my phone AND run McAfee (Anti-virus) at the same time. Bye-ee

@Mr Brittas - If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Especially when you swear to try to make your 'point'.

@ship - I can't help you with that query, hopfully someone else (hopefully politer than some in this thread) can help you further.

Evening all,

I see our resident comedy genius, Mr Gordon Brittas, has obviously been a naughty boy and had his posts removed by one of our good leaders - what did you do, Gordon?!

I hadn't realised what I said was that inflammatory - anyway, shippy, I think there are still serious firewall issues with the SonyEricsson PC Suite and phone connection software, but as for specific issues it seems that people are still having them with McAfee from these threads:

P910 can't connect to PC.Pls Help!

P910i will not synch and is not recognised

Hope that's of some use, and that Mr Brittas can contain himself in the future

Dave
