Really?
Mine was in f/w & it still is now I have P910 f/w.
They can't be uninstalled or deleted.
Do the apps actually go if u choose uninstall on your phone? It may sound silly but perhaps u have them in the f/w AND installed normally too.

Attempting to delete the following folder:

will produce the error message saying it is a read-only file and cannot be deleted.
Dunno, but on my p800, with Smn you can change the properties of a file/folder from Read-only to something else, and when you delete, it goes.
You could give it a try. Just dont delete something vital to the sanity of your device.

My english isn't so good so i don't know if i can explain this, i give it a try.
When i choose storage manager in control panel (i hope that it's the right name in english, i have swedish in my phone) i can choose to uninstal programs like chess, solitare, communicorder, etc, etc. I havent tried to uninstall them so i don't know if it works.
When i choose the normal way to uninstall," program/uninstall" theese programs doesn't apear... Don't ask me why???
As i said i have swedish on my phone, i don't know if i'm using the right words in english...

Right, now I want you all to listen VERY closely because I don't think my message is getting across here!
The A:\ and Z:\ drives are ROM drives. That means Read Only Memory. These are written by the firmware and cannot be deleted or modified by the user.
Attempting to delete, rename, move or change attributes of ANYTHING on these ROM drives will produce the message saying it cannot be done because it is a read-only file! So u can't delete them & u can't make them any type of file other than read-only.
Chess & Solitaire are just the same as Messages, Calendar, Communicorder, Jotter etc etc and are contained in the f/w on the ROM drives. This means you CANNOT delete, uninstall or do ANYTHING to them. It would be idiotic of SE to let people uninstall things like Communicorder!
@.Z.
You explained well but I think u misunderstand. Going to ControlPanel & StorageManager shows a screen which will have a list with Solitaire and even Communicorder in it however this is not to uninstall them. You should notice the files are on 1kb in size, hardly large enough to be an application! These are simply files for your preferences, high scores etc & deleting them would not remove the program itself.
The uninstall button under this list simply takes you to the uninstall menu, the same as the one u reach through applist. You will see this is a list of apps which CAN be uninstalled and does not include Chess or Solitaire.
I hope that makes sense to everyone
