I agree with @TheRealSpawn. In THEORY, smartphones (Symbian OS) SHOULD automatically give a better user experience than non-smartphones. However....

I have a friend who agonized over the fact that his officemates have .sis apps on their 6600s. (He owned a 6230). I ask him what kind of apps, he stammers and says, well, they have this program that gives a fake background noise during a call so that the person you're talking to thinks it's raining, or that a dog's barking.

I say what else and he says he can't remember, but that his officemates have lots of other .sis files that they can always install...

In my opinion, the only real advantage that a Nokia S60 has over SE S700i is multitasking. But even in this area, the advantage is only very slight. My K700i (very similar to S700i) can initiate/receive SMS during a call. It can also receive SMS and allow a reply while a Java app runs.

But it's just me. If having so many apps in your phone is, by itself, important to you (no matter how infrequently you will have to use them), then get the 6670. In exchange, you will lose S700i's EMS, better camera, better pic frames & effects, better screen, nicer user interface, better quality build....

The most useful apps are available in J2ME format anyway for SE700i:

Web browser - There's Reqwireless WebViewer. No slouch now, since they've added Javascript support recently.

Instant messenger - Aside from the built-in My Friends, you can install cMessenger, X-Messenger, IMic, TipicMe, etc. In some places you can even get Agile Messenger from your service provider (reportedly).

Book reader - Tequilacat Bookreader. Stores volumes of books in the S700i in compressed form.

Well, if u can give away some aspects of s700 (better cam, display, audio quality, battery performance, an irda) the 6670 is for you. The symbian software capabilites are more greater than java capabilities. For example, with java can u control the alarm, profiles, system settings, camera, bluetooth, etc? NO. But symbian apps are capable for this.. I wouldnt go for the 6670 because it lacks the irda port, wich i use very often.. This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

@vanquis yes inded you can control the enumerated things with a non-symbian phone BUT what was the point of my post is that you can improve or add new features to a smartphone. For eg, 7650 or p800, when were released didnt had a video rec software, but after a while many camcoder apps appeared. Those apps couldnt be written in java, cos java doesnt have acces to all phone functions (api).. This message was posted from a Nokia 7650
