K700 also supports AAC format sounds .m4a directly from Apple iTunes especially if you have the very latest firmware R2AE. (It supports them before but you have to change the file extension)

Guys... Thanx for telling me the "diet Mp3" but to be honest with you... i lost my appetite after trying to use it... It dint work at all, says the program needs to be reinstalled and caused some execution errors:S anyways, that not the point... still i thank you for the link.

But is there any other way we can compress the .mp3 to .mp3 or .aac that acquires lesser space but good quality? *scratching his head*
or any other Vorbis player applet made in java, would help us playing the vorbis format??? ring any bells??

I'm also looking for something to make my mp3s smaller, because i simply can't transfer larger files over the USB .. managed to get a 2mb transfered but that's it ...

Dunno if you can hear any difference between 128 and 40 on the phone, but I sure as hell can on my PC speakers ... Even 128 suck on my Logitech Z5300 ..

Try GoldWave, all you have to do is set the frequency higher and the bitrate lower( I use *.mp3 48000 Hz, 32 kbps, mono), files go to about a tenth of the size and are nearly the same quality as 128 kbps, 44100 Hz.

Glad to help.

Hi everyone I am looking for an easy to use program that can reduce the bit rate of an mp3 so that the file will be smaller. I also want to be able to cut out the unnecessary parts of a song ex. Of a particular song I may only want the portion from 25 seconds to 1 minute.
I have just downloaded streambox ripper, but the program fails to run i.e. its on my desktop and when I open it and click finish it shows files installing but the program itself doesnt work. When I try to delete the program the message Cannot delete access is denied, make sure the disk you are writing to isnt full and the program is not in use.
The program isnt in use and I have tons of space on my hard drive can anyone assist. I followed a link posted on this boad and downloaded the program from streambox ripper.com
Thanks in advance for the help,it will be greatly appreciated.

I use "mp3 cutter joiner". It can extract a part of an audio file and contest between various formats. You can take the bitrate as low as 8kbps. You get a free trial to convert 30 songs

Hit ctrl+alt+del, open tab 'processes' and post the list here, or even better in cycovision pc help thread. This message was posted from a T610
