I have exactly the same problem, it downloaded the software and firmware, but when i try to complete the update, it tells me "Error communicating with device, remove and reconnect the battery to restart" then the application closes.
I have tried all kind of things, even removing the power, but it still does not appear to work.
I spoke with SE and my provider and both blame each other, SE saying my provider have blocked the update service, and the provider claims the problem is with SE.
