The firmware upgrade won't affect the phonebook. But make a contingency plan anyway just in case-! Either store them in the SIM or transfer to a pc. This message was posted from a T230

I have R2AA003 and I have some problems with the phone book too, except on mine, if I have two contacts with the same surname, when selecting one contact as a recipient for an SMS, it displays the other but still sends it to the one I selected.

Hi all !!

All the problems I've described in the first post are fixed !!

The SE Service put R2L001 f/w and everything is ok.

There is a firmware bug in the address book of the k700i where if a default number is not chosen for a particular name (even if you only have one number stored for that name) the phone book displays the last number which has been set as a default beside that name.

for example if you have two numbers stored for 'Alan' (Mobile & home) and the default set to mobile, then if you have one mobile number stored for 'Barry' but havent set this as the default number then in some cases when you go to the 'Barry' entry in the phone book it will show 'Alans' Mobile Number, if 'Barry' is called the phone will actually call the correct number and not 'Alans' number as shown.

To correct this simply go through each contact in your address book and select 'more' followed by 'default' to set a default number for that contact, even if a contact has only one number select this as the default number.

Hope this helps!

I can't find any way to select the default number? Also, I have huge problems with country codes being cut off at random when replying to txt messages. I have R2L firmware, but obviously need to upgrade. Does the totalserver allow upgrades for free? My previous login there is disabled now..

My problem is:
If I have a contact "Alex" with the numbers 12345 (mobile) (default) en 23456 (home), the list on calls only shows the name and icon for 12345 and if I have called 23456 it won't show anything but the number.

Is this a firmware bug?

Firmware R2AA003

Guys,

That is most definitely a firmware bug, the latest firmware is: R2AE033.

Get your fones firmware upgraded! U can do it yourself if u purchase a t28 (Fighter) cable and a credit for SETools.

PM if u have more questions about this.

Cheers!
